Magnesium Beats Kidney Stones

Increasing levels of magnesium intake were linked to decreasing amounts of oxalate in the blood of patients with calcium oxalate kidney stones.   This type of kidney stone is the most common.

Oxalate in the blood joins with calcium to make oxalate kidney stones.  Magnesium keeps oxalate dissolved in the blood so it doesn’t crystallize with calcium and form stones.
