DHA Omega-3 For Kids

Moms to be are recommended to take prenatal vitamins and omega-3 DHA.  These nutrients are vital to the developing fetus.

New research suggests that the benefits last even longer than previously thought.  Eighty one children who either feed DHA or placebo were followed every six months up to the age to 6.  They were tested for cognitive differences.

While there weren’t significant differences at 18 months, as the children got older more differences were seen in those who received the DHA.  This suggests that DHA omega-3 may have long term brain benefits beyond fetal development.
