DOCTOR'S APPROACH TO PROSTATE HEALTH

drkatz.jpg

Half of the men between the ages of 60 and 70 and approximately 90% of men over 70 will have benign prostate swelling than can cause much discomfort and embarrassment.  Annually, approximately 31,000 men die from prostate cancer.  New and more frequesnt medical testing for prostate cancer has improved early diagnosis.

Is there anything that men can do to reduce these risks or to help maintain health in the prostate?  For answers we turn to urologist Aaron Katz, M.D., from Colombia University in New York.  Dr. Katz is not only a renowned urologist and surgeon but is also the Director at the Center for Holistic Urology at Columbia University (CHUCU).  Dr. Katz and collegues have become the world's foremost authorities on the benefits of natural substances and the prostate.

DR. KATZ'S HEALTHY PROSTATE PROTOCOL:

Include:

  • Lycopene, selenium, vitamins D, E, and zinc
  • Zyflamend (healthy inflammation response formula)
  • Prosate 5LX herbal formula (5-LOX inhibitor)
  • Fish oils and olive oil
  • Eat dark greens, cruciferous vegetables and flax lignans

Maca is a cruciferous vegetable in the mustard family.  In studies it has shown to increase libido in healthy men.  it does this without influencing levels of testosterone or any other sex hormones.  The dose used in studies was 500-1000mg twice per day.  The most biologically active formula contains standardized potencies of macamides, macaenes and glucosinolates.
