Lycopene may reduce blood pressure according to a new meta-analysis.  Researchers wanted to see if current studies supported the claim.

They found six studies that met the requirements they were looking for.  Looking at their results they found that lycopene reduces systolic blood pressure, but not diastolic.

The effect was greatest at doses greater than 12mg and for those with high blood pressure.  Lycopene is found in red fruits and vegetables like tomatoes.
